MonHathi creates children's books and activities for families raising kids between languages, cultures, and countries.
MonHathi began with one family, one trip, and one missing book.
When we planned our first family trip to India, I went looking for a book that could prepare my daughters for what they were about to experience. Something that would show them the rickshaws, the markets, the festivals, the food. The living, breathing India their father grew up in.
I couldn't find it.
So I wrote it.
That book became Lyla and Ella's First Trip to India. And once I started, I couldn't stop. MonHathi grew out of that first search: a children's publishing brand for families growing up between languages, cultures, and the places they call home.
I'm French. My husband is from India. We're raising our two daughters, Lyla and Ella, in the US. At our dinner table, English, French, and Hindi all find a way in.
Before MonHathi, I spent years helping startups build, grow, and navigate complex decisions. But the work I care most about is the work I do for my girls: finding the stories that make their world make sense.
MonHathi is that work, made for families like ours.
"Mon" is French for "my." "Hathi" is Hindi for "elephant."
In Indian culture, the elephant represents wisdom, family, and strength. MonHathi is our family's story written into a name: two languages, two cultures, and one gentle companion for every child figuring out where they belong.
Every child deserves to see their world reflected back at them. The festivals their family celebrates. The languages spoken at home. The food that means comfort. The places that feel like both here and home.
MonHathi creates books and activities for children who carry more than one world in their hearts, and for the parents who are raising them.
